Ovarian cancer has an impact on the patient's quality of life and well-being. This mainly depends on her state of health, the symptoms she experiences and the side effects of treatments, which can cause sequelae in some cases.
Recommendations for Ovarian Cancer Patients
Diet. Your diet should be varied and balanced, meaning you should reduce your consumption of processed foods, fats, sugars and salt. Eating fresh food and trying to maintain the same weight are also recommended.
Toxins. Give up tobacco, alcohol and drugs.
Exercise regularly and consistently. An example would be walking for thirty minutes to one hour a day. This is beneficial in cardiovascular terms, and also positively influences mood.
Sexuality. More than half of women experience changes in their sex life, displaying a lack of libido, vaginal dryness, pain or an inability to have sexual intercourse. In this case, it is important to encourage communication with your partner, and to encourage non-coital activities.
Self-examination and gynaecological check-ups.
Sleep and rest. Creating a a peaceful atmosphere before going to sleep is recommended. You are advised to get a minimum of 7 hours’ sleep.
Avoid stressful situations as much as possible. This causes tiredness and discomfort, so meditation and yoga are recommended.
Psychological support and maintain a positive attitude. It is normal to feel overwhelmed after receiving treatment, so it is advisable to consult with your medical team to receive the care you need. It is also recommended to adopt a positive attitude. In this case, using mindfulness techniques is recommended.
