Unit of Addictive Behaviors
The Addictive Behaviors Unit is dedicated to the comprehensive approach to disorders related to the use of substances, with special emphasis on those derived from alcoholic beverages. The Unit offers quality, decisive and efficient patient-centered assistance and has a teaching and research program that seeks the best possible treatment. The Addictive Behaviors Unit is led by the Clinical Institute of Neurosciences at the Clínic Barcelona Hospital.
The Unit's activity is developed in several areas:
- External inquiries
- Attention and Follow-up Center
- Day Hospital
- Acute hospitalization room
- Liaison psychiatry
In the first visit, 3,000 people are seen, 14,000 follow-up visits are conducted, about 890 group therapy sessions are held, and 14,000 toxicological tests are performed on biological samples, primarily urine.
