The Thoracic Tumours Unit is a cross-cutting and coordinated multidisciplinary structure, made up of a team of professionals committed to providing personalized and comprehensive care to patients with lung cancer and other thoracic tumours. The aim is to offer clinical practice of excellence and guarantee the best quality of care for patients based on scientific evidence.

The Unit forms part of the new Clínic Barcelona Comprehensive Cancer Center and includes six key cross-disciplinary areas that integrate care, clinical research, translational research, innovation, and teaching related to lung cancer and other thoracic tumours.

The Thoracic Tumours Unit brings together around forty professionals from various fields dedicated to medical, surgical, and radiation treatment, diagnostic imaging, pathology, pharmacy, specialized nursing, and other specialties. They are split into fifteen core areas, defined by three main working groups: operations, support, and research. The Operations Group is made up of all the members and services involved in the diagnostic, treatment and follow-up process, and they constitute the Thoracic Tumours Committee. The support and research groups include other professionals linked to the pathology, as well as basic and translational research groups from the University of Barcelona and the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS).
