The main causes of alopecia are:
Edad. Con los años, los folículos pilosos (las estructuras que producen el pelo) envejecen y reducen de manera progresiva su capacidad para producir fibras capilares tan numerosas y robustas como en etapas más jóvenes.
Alteraciones inflamatorias, inmunológicas, hormonales, metabólicas o ambientales que modifican el ciclo del cabello y pueden provocar una caída del cabello anómala.
