Signs and symptoms of Alopecia

Reading time: 1 min

There are certain signs that warrant consultation with a specialist when they occur:

Sudden or accelerated hair loss not attributable to seasonal changes or temporary stress.

Appearance of localised areas without hair.

Persistent itching (pruritus) or discomfort of the scalp.

Redness, scaling, pain or increased sensitivity.

Hair that breaks easily or a sudden sensation of weakness.

These symptoms may indicate an underlying disorder which, if not diagnosed and treated in time, may progress to more extensive hair loss and, in some cases, irreversible damage. Early detection allows for an accurate diagnosis, timely initiation of appropriate treatment and preservation of hair health to the greatest extent possible.
