Tractament dels Trastorns d'Ansietat al Clínic

The aim of the programme is to provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for anxiety disorders. The Clínic offers cognitive behavioural therapy, a type of psychological treatment considered the most effective for the management of anxiety disorders. In some cases, this treatment may be combined with medication.

Clinical care is focused on the assessment and treatment of the following anxiety disorders:

• Specific phobias
• Social anxiety disorder
• Panic disorder/agoraphobia
• Generalised anxiety disorder 
• Separation anxiety disorder 
• Selective mutism in children 
• All cases are managed starting with an initial assessment and diagnosis visit, which also defines possible treatments.

The Clínic is a referral centre for children and adolescents with anxiety disorders from the L'Esquerra de l’Eixample and La Dreta de l'Eixample areas, and the referral centre for adults from the L'Esquerra de l’Eixample area. Patients receive psychological treatment (cognitive behavioural treatment) and when needed, pharmacological treatment may also be prescribed for a limited time.

Each year, the Child and Youth Psychiatry and Psychology Department holds approximately 50 initial visits, 600 follow-up visits, and 30 group therapy sessions.

The Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Programme of the Adult Psychiatry and Psychology Department carries out around 40 initial visits and 200 follow-up visits annually.

Facilities

Patient care is provided at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre (Centre de Salut Mental Infantil i Juvenil) in Eixample (Staircase 11, 3rd Floor), and at the Outpatient Clinic located at Rosselló Street, No. 140.
